Toh Hong Boon

Hong Boon graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, and King’s College London with a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences Research. He gained extensive laboratory operations and research knowledge from his career at the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS), a leading research institute under A*Star, where he was involved in genotyping and Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS). He subsequently moved to the role of Analyst, Project Coordinator and Functional Planner in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) Regional Molecular Marker Laboratory of Syngenta, a Swiss agro-biotechnology multi-national corporation. He was part of the Leadership Team that led the Laboratory in serving clients and collaborations globally. He was also involved in data analysis, management of global and regional projects, demand and resource planning, and management reporting for the APAC Regional Laboratory. Prior to joining Imagene Labs, Hong Boon was involved in the setting up of embraceBio, a Singapore Company that assists researchers to source and recruit research volunteers and samples. As embraceBio’s Assistant General Manager, he oversaw Operations, Business Development, Marketing and Community Outreach.
